The Chesapeake Elite Volleyball Academy is a Maryland-based junior club volleyball program that competes nationally and regionally. CEVA is committed to providing the best in player development, no matter the age or level. Additionally, program unity, the development of well-rounded persons, and creating an enjoyable atmosphere is equally important to us as wins and losses.
It is CEVA’s mission to create a platform of exposure for athletic development, college scholarship opportunities, and personal growth for every player. Coaches emphasize the importance of leadership, development of individual skills, team participation and a positive work ethic. We encourage our athletes to be active role models in the community, classroom and on the court. This vision builds confident people/athletes who will positively contribute to communities throughout their lives.

ABOUT THE COACHES
Players who play on a CEVA team have the right to expect current instruction and quality coaching. All coaches are USAV certified and background screened and bring a wealth of coaching and playing experience to all of our student athletes. Among our staff are individuals with Youth, Junior, Collegiate and National coaching experience. Our coaches have playing experience at the Junior, Collegiate and National levels. Entering our fifth season as a member of CHRVA, we proudly announce our 2020 - 2021 CEVA coaching staff.
Club Director: AJ Himes
AJ returns in his sixth season as co-founder and the Director of CEVA. Coach AJ comes from 3 years of Assistant Coaching experience and working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Velocity Volleyball Club prior to him and Stephanie Himes introducing CEVA to the region. Coach AJ brings a wealth of knowledge in Business Administration and looks forward to expanding CEVA while keeping the same values and principles the club was built on. Club Administrator: Stephanie Himes
Co-founder and club admin, Stephanie is excited to enter the sixth year for CEVA in the Chesapeake Region this season. She started her playing career at Broadneck High School, in Annapolis MD, as a four-year Varsity player. During her four years, they won 2 Anne Arundel County Championships, 4 Regional Championships and 2 Maryland State Titles. Stephanie was named 1st team All Anne Arundel County two times, named All Anne Arundel County MVP, and 1st team All-Metro. She also played 8 years of USAV juniors for Chesapeake Volleyball Club. Coach Stephanie continued her volleyball career at the collegiate level - playing for Anne Arundel Community College and Salisbury University. At AACC they won the Regional Championship and she was named region tournament MVP. At Salisbury they won 2 Conference Championship Titles and made it to the Elite 8 in the National Championship. She was the Varsity Assistant Coach at Broadneck High School in 2010 and the Head Coach at Anne Arundel Community College in 2011 and 2012. Coach Stephanie was the Assistant Director for Velocity Volleyball Club (2011 - 2013) and Head Coach for 7 years at the 15's and 16's National Travel level. Coach Stephanie is SafeSport and IMPACT certified.
Technical Director: Kameron Beans
Co-founder and Head Coach, Kam comes back to CEVA for this sixth year after spending the summer playing in the National Volleyball League as well the AVP Professional Beach Tour for Professional Beach Volleyball. Coach Kam played club for NVVA, Maryland Volleyball Academy, and Tampa Bay Invaders VBC. Throughout his playing career, Coach Kam also played in the USA pipeline and has been on and trained with the National Team through High Performance as well as playing in the Professional Volleyball League (PVL) with Florida Wave, LVC, and Chesapeake Rising Tide. During his collegiate experience at Juniata College, he and his team were National Championship Runner-Up. While attending Juniata, Coach Kam served as the Student Assistant Coach for the Women’s Team and has coached at the JC clinics and camps, as well as numerous other D1 program camps, giving him the knowledge and experience of some of the best coaches in the country. He coached for Velocity Volleyball Club for 3 years at all age groups and acted as the club's Assistant Technical Director and Individual Strength/Conditioning Coach. With this being just his 4th year with CEVA, he has assisted more than 20 graduates receive financial aid from their respective collegiate programs, and is noted as our Recruiting Coordinator as well as our Technical Director, giving him the opportunity to work with all of our teams and coaches, and continuing to grow the game. He was previously the Varsity Head Coach for Dr. Henry Wise High School and Assistant Coach at Division I Delaware State University. Coach Kam is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Coach Aaron is from Baltimore Maryland and played beach and indoor volleyball at liberty University. He’s been playing volleyball for 11 years and now competes professionally alongside CEVA’s Kameron Beans and many others. Although this is his first year with CEVA, he’s looking to inspire young athletes pursuing their love for the game.
Coach Amanda is excited to be entering her second season coaching with CEVA. Coach Amanda grew up playing volleyball local to Anne Arundel County, competing for 4 years at Southern High School in Harwood, MD as a Middle Hitter. She went on to play in college on York College's club team as a Setter. Coach Amanda coaches JV volleyball at Glen Burnie High School and was the assistant coach to our 16 Travel team last season. Coach Amanda is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Coach Beth is entering her fourth coaching season with CEVA. Coach Beth brings a wealth of experience coaching at the high school, club and collegiate level. Coach Beth was assistant coach at Broadneck High School, winning 4 state championships and 6 county championship titles. Simultaneously, Coach Beth owned her own volleyball club, Chesapeake Volleyball Club, which produced 10-10 graduating seniors to scholarshiped collegiate athletes in its final season. Coach Beth was also assistant coach at Coppin State University and is excited to be returning back to club volleyball to assist our 16 Travel team. Coach Beth is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Coach Bethany enters her fifth year coaching with CEVA. Over the past 5 years, coach Bethany has spent time as the 16s assistant coach in 2015, co-head coach to the 16s team in 2016 and then became the head coach for our 17s team in 2017 and 2018. This year, coach Bethany will be our head Coach for the 15s team. Coach Bethany played as a Libero for Velocity Volleyball Club for three years and was a member of the Archbishop Spalding High School volleyball team for four years. She continued her volleyball career at the collegiate level at Division II school, Flagler College of Saint Augustine Florida, where she also competed in a beach league. Coach Bethany is currently in her 6th years at Old Mill High School as the Head Varsity volleyball Coach. Coach Bethany is IMPACT, CPR, Care & Prevention, and SafeSport Certified.
As a coaches kid, Casey has spent most of her life in a gym. She played for a local club from her 12s season through her 18s season. Casey attended Catonsville High School where she played on the varsity team for all 4 years. Casey was named second team all-county her freshman year and first-team all-county her sophomore, junior, and senior year. Casey was named MVP of her high school team her junior and senior year. Additionally, she was placed on the all-metro team during her senior season. Casey was captain of all 6 of her club teams and was captain for 2 of her 4 years at Catonsville. Casey started her colligate career at the University of North Florida where she played both Indoor and Beach volleyball. As a freshman she was captain of her team and was named to the all-freshman team. Following the passing of her father, Casey returned home after her sophomore season at UNF to be closer to her mother. Casey spent her Junior year season playing at Towson University. Casey finished her career by playing her senior season for her “Aunt” Caren Kemner at Culver Stockton College in Missouri.
Casey has been coaching club locally since 2017. Most recently she graduated with her masters degree in clinical psychology. Casey is passionate about bringing sport psychology into the gym to help young athletes achieve balance and learn emotion regulation techniques to help them both on and of the court. Coach Casey is IMPACT and SafeSport certified
Coach Lorenzo enters his third season coaching with CEVA after coaching 2 years with DIGS Volleyball Club in New Jersey and two years coaching for Saint Peter’s Prep, where him and his team won 1 county title, 1 state sectional title, were the NJ State Championship runner-ups and he produced 4 All-State players. He also coached at the collegiate level for 2 years at New Jersey City University, both men’s and women’s. Coach Lorenzo played at Rutgers University and was a member of the Philippine National Team U21. He currently serves our country in the United States Navy, stationed at Fort Meade. He’s very excited to be joining CEVA again this season. Coach Lorenzo is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Coach Nora is excited to be starting her first year coaching with CEVA. Coach Nora played as a setter/Opposite Hitter for Bay Area Volleyball Academy for two years, and one year at each Velocity Volleyball Club and Maryland Juniors Volleyball Club. She played four years as a varsity starting setter at Annapolis High School. Nora continued her volleyball career recreationally while at college in Florida, and has been playing in the Howard County Co-Rec Volleyball League for the past two years. Coach Nora is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Originally from New Jersey, she moved to Maryland where she was introduced to volleyball her freshman year of high school. She played middle in high school but was converted to outside in college. She played 3 years of collegiate volleyball which was ended with a ACL tear. After recovery she started coaching at SEED Public Charter school of DC for the past 6 seasons. She encourages her girls to fight no matter what the circumstances and keep a level head. In addition to coaching volleyball, Toni is a registered nurse. A motto is “health is wealth.” She says the one thing that keeps her on her feet besides fitness, is her toddler son Bryson. Coach Nora is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Chesapeake Elite Volleyball Academy (CEVA) Technical Director, Kameron Beans, is known for his ability to help individuals with their recruiting process. Not only does he handle each athlete individually, he is very effective helping the athletes who need more assistance with the process, diamond-in-the-rough athletes!
